Criminal justice organisations want new Titan prisons abandoned.

The signatories to the letter – who include the Prison Reform Trust,
the Prison Officers’ Association, Liberty, Nacro, the International
Centre for Prison Studies and Napo – argue that Titan prisons would
squander billions of pounds of taxpayers’ money and are not a solution
to the current prisons crisis. Published on the day that the
Government’s consultation on Titan prisons closes , the letter calls on
Jack Straw to focus on addressing the causes of the growing prison
population instead of pursuing an expensive prison-building programme….

….I suggest the signatories, see below, of the letter should go and live in the so called ’sink estates’ of our cities and see if they are of the same opinion a few months later.
