Dan Van Ness: Do it now, the paradigm shift

Jun 02, 2009

In 1988 I worked for Justice Fellowship, the justice reform arm of Prison Fellowship in the US. At the time there were annual staff conferences and one of the events was a talent night. So those of us at JF decided that we would present a rap called The Paradigm Shift to help the entire PF staff understand this thing called restorative justice.

PF is a Christian faith-based organization, so we included some biblical references. But we threw in some history as well.

We are now over 20 years later, and it seems that we still await a paradigm shift in public attitudes and justice policy. So pull up the copy, enjoy the lyrics.

And I understand that if we all chant the chorus as loud as we can, the paradigm WILL shift!
