Bruce Kittle inquires whether forgiveness and the criminal justice system are related to each other – whether they can or should be brought together. Answering in the affirmative – forgiveness can and should have a vital role in the healing and restoration of individuals and society in the wake of injuries from crime’s – he acknowledges that bringing forgiveness and the criminal justice system together is a difficult challenge. To illustrate both the challenges and the possibilities, Kittle draws upon his own experience as a mediator in victim-offender conferences.
