Today, on Yom Kippur, a day where we, like those in South Africa as we will see, view ourselves as perpetrator and victim, a day where we seek to restore and heal relationships, a day when we hear about and read about, and are called upon to do justice, I would like to speak about what is now called ‘restorative justice,’ as it exists within our Jewish tradition, and how it is being applied elsewhere.(excerpt)
