From April 1994 to June 1994 terror reigned throughout the tiny country of Rwanda, Africa. During those 100 days, approximately 1 million minority Tutsi were summarily massacred by the dominant Hutus in the Rwandan genocide. How does a country begin to recover from such a violent, devastating event? Shannon Connolly, of the Conflict Resolution Program (CRP), interviewed Ms. Ellen Yamshon about an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) process, known as Gacaca, that is being implemented to address the crimes that occurred during the Rwandan genocide.
