"Therefore, in this chapter I have chosen to explore the extent to which there are restorative elements to the current style of policing in New Zealand. And I find that there is room to make some changes. However, that is not to say that the policing here is without a significant restorative connection - and I am particularly keen in this paper to advertise the excellent work of our youth services staff in the use of restorative techniques. Finally, I suggest that maybe we should aim a little higher than we currently do, and I have some ideas about how we might do that." (Abstract)
