"In this chapter I will examine some historical traits of Norwegian Youth Justice, especially from the 19th century onwards, with an emphasis on the last two decades. This investigation will be based upon a particular societal perspective and will consider the question: How can we provide justice for youth who get into trouble in today's society? A partial answer comes in the form of restorative justice as a recent innovation that avoids many of the problems of the traditional criminal justice system." (abstract)
