"The purpose of this chapter is to elaborate on the potential in Serbia for dealing with the Racak killings through the use of informal mechanisms. After considering the main challenges and obstacles related to the establishment of truth, justice and redress, this chapter gives an overview of informal justice mechanisms that have been used in Serbia and that may be applied in the same or similar way in the Racak case and other analogous cases in Kosovo. The overview of informal mechanisms includes examples mostly from contemporary society, but illustrations from historical times are also explored." (abstract)
