The Barron County Restorative Justice Program’s mission statement declares that this private non-profit corporation was organized to “provide inspiration, leadership and information sharing in the development and support of various models of justice” to aid victims, offenders and their communities in dialogue undertaken toward achieving healing and restoration.
Launched in 1998 in Barron County Wisconsin, USA, by Judge Edward R. Brunner and headed by a Board of Directors, BCRJP employs 3 fulltime staff and is run by over 150 volunteers.  Judge Brunner instituted community forums in the county to generate “grass roots” support for the practice of Restorative Justice principals.
