Website of the Month: Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation
South Africa's Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) was founded in January 1989. The organizers’ primary goal was, and is, to advance reconciliation and democracy and to build a human rights culture within South Africa's government and society.
PUBLICATIONS provides online access to 13 years of research. It also lists publications produced over the past year, as well as popular media and journal articles.
PROJECTS is a listing of the units/projects that comprise the CSVR. The links provides a description of the unit, its goals, and major projects. They include the Criminal Justice Policy Unit, Education and Media Unit, Gender Unit, Transition and Reconciliation Unit, Trauma Clinic, and Youth Department.
CONSULTANCY SERVICES is a history of projects in which CSVR has already been involved. There are links to several papers including work done with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
TRAINING lists the programs offered by the Centre. These include:

- Dealing with Rape and Sexual Offences,
- Basic Trauma Awareness and Victim Empowerment ,

- and Human Rights in the Criminal Justice Process.
