Website of the Month: European Forum of Victim Offender Mediation and Restorative Justice.

Document Actions
In December 2000, the European Forum for Victim Offender Mediation and Restorative Justice was formed for the purpose of connecting VOM practitioners throughout Europe. The Forum facilitates formal contact between mediation specialists - researchers, practitioners and policy makers - involved in the continuing development of effective Restorative Justice practices. One tool for performing this task is the recently developed website.

 http://www.euforumrj.org/

The site offers the following services:

Background  provides information about restorative justice as an international movement, the origins of the Forum, and a statement of goals and objectives.

News and events covers provides three sources of useful information.

  • Short news- provides brief announcements on restorative justice issues, events, and publications.

  • Newsletter- provides information on restorative developments throughout Europe, news on publications, and a listing of upcoming events.

  • Calendar- a listing of conferences and other events around the world.

  • Reading room  is a searchable database of restorative justice related documents. A search returns annotated bibliographies of the works and provides links to full-text when available.

  • Discussion Forum is an interactive message board and chat room for members of the Forum.

  • Links  is a listing of related websites broken down categories such as Non-Governmental Organizations, National and Regional Organizations, and Governmental Organizations, etc.
