Twenty years of civil war, often along religious and ethnic lines, left Lebanon with a legacy of displaced communities where fear, anger, and mistrust hinder return and reconciliation.
US Groups Organize Restorative Justice Commemoration
Several US groups have organized a Restorative Justice commemoration for April 14-21, 2002. The traditional date for commemorating Restorative Justice Week is the third week in November, however this compete with the US Thanksgiving holiday. Hence the date change.
Conciliation Quarterly
Conciliation Quarterly is a publication of the Mennonite Conciliation Service. The Summer 2001 (V. 20, No. 3) issue was dedicated to restorative justice. The MCS has given Restorative Justice Online to reprint those articles here.

Community Penalties: Change and Challenges
This book grew out of papers and discussions at the 24th Cropwood Round Table Conference in Cambridge, England, 28-29 June 2000. The purpose for the conference was to address future directions for community penalties.
Leading Edge: Meet Lode Walgrave, Marc Forget, and Lisa Rea.
Lode Walgrave is working to develop a maximalist model of restorative justice. Marc Forget is a Canadian educator developing programs aimed at reducing violence. Lisa Rea is the president of a new non-profit group called The Justice & Reconciliation Project, which promotes forgiveness and reconciliation.
