Summary

Editor (1998). Healing Justice in our Communities. Update: The Church Council on Justice and Corrections. (Winter): 1-10, 12-20. Ottawa, Canada.

For two intense days last September, at the invitation of our national church coalition, 86 people met in the Moncton City Hall chambers, exploring the criminal justice systems and was to achieve a more satisfying justice for all parties on all sides harmed by crime. Our project, which had the fall Community Forum on Healing Justice as its centerpiece, demonstrated a process for stimulating more fundamental changes and mobilizing support for them. we tried to do this primarily by helping a community move toward a grater acceptance od approaches to safety and justice that are more holistic and healing or restorative in nature.
