"The justice program for the Saskatoon Tribal Council began in July 1997 when government funders and the Saskatoon Tribal Council signed agreements to develop community-based justice initiatives for the seven member bands and the urban services in Saskatoon. The Aboriginal urban population and the seven-member bands were keenly interested in reclaiming justice--developing a system that would work for the people whom the system has engulfed." (excerpt)
