Executive Director: Construyendo Circulos de Paz/Constructing Circles of Peace Domestic Violence Restorative Justice Program --(Nogales, Arizona, USA)
Construyendo Circulos de Paz/Constructing Circles of Peace (CCP) is seeking a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Executive Director to lead this Nogales, Arizona-based organization into its next stage of growth and development.
Background: CCP was founded in 2004 by the Santa Cruz County community, together with Judge Mary Helen Maley and Professor Linda Mills of NYU. CCP is an innovative restorative justice treatment program for people convicted of domestic violence crimes. Willing victims, offenders, and family members participate over 26 weeks in a treatment approach that is designed to address all aspects of the crime in meetings called “circles.” Circles hold people accountable for their violent behavior. The family, a trained facilitator, and a community member participate in developing a productive plan for identifying and addressing issues. An agreed-upon safety monitor helps the circle facilitator address safety concerns in order to help prevent future violence.

Position involves coordinating a trafficking outreach program within SAGE and Anti-Trafficking Task Forces and Coalitions, managing a public education campaign, conducting outreach to potential victims, assessing potential victims, providing crisis counseling and case management services, maintaining records, and writing periodic reports to be submitted to the Office of Refugee Resettlements.

The Vera Institute of Justice is seeking a flexible, enthusiastic person with a strong interest in criminal justice policy and the development of innovative programs. The Planning Assistant will work with the Director of Planning developing concepts for innovation in the criminal justice system in areas such as community reentry from jail and prison, mental health and criminal justice, juvenile justice, race and the justice system, and child welfare, and will also assist in ongoing planning efforts in restorative justice and other areas. The Planning Assistant will perform a variety of tasks such as researching best practices, talking to practioners, collecting other information, and assisting in the drafting of concept papers and proposals. He or she will also perform some administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings with government partners, managing files, drafting letters, preparing meeting minutes, and serving as a department contact and coordinator.
