Victim Support is looking for a Restorative Justice Worker to support victims of young offenders in Tower hamlets.
Main purpose of the job:
- responsible for the support of victims of young offenders and development of the Restorative Justice and Referral Order programmes with the Tower Hamlets Youth Offending Team
- ensure the highest standards of service delivery in accordance with the Schemes policies and priorities
Main duties and responsibilities:
- provide initial contact to victims who may use the Referral Order process
- provide direct casework support to victims of young offenders through visits and at Victim Support as appropriate
- when necessary respond to victims who contact or call into Tower Hamlets office during open door sessions
- work with the individual to ensure that the victim accesses all the services available to them
- provide information to victims of the Restorative Justice and Referrals Orders process
- keep accurate records of all work done with or on behalf of victims and produce written reports as requested
- liaise as necessary with local statutory, voluntary and community organisations on issues affecting victims youth crime in Tower Hamlets
- maintain systems for recording and monitoring statistics for the target areas
- provide information and support to agencies within the partnership
- identify and assist clients suitable for CICA claims
- support victims through the Restorative Justice and Referral Orders process
- represent the victim to groups and organisations i.e. Youth Offending Team (YOT)
- attend Panels, Forums, Courts, Mediation with the victim
- attend Referral Order Panels on behalf of victims and communicate the victim impact statement to the Panel
- ensure that volunteers and staff members are fully informed of issues likely to affect victims of youth crime in Tower Hamlets
- ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with Victim Support Policies, including Confidentiality and Equal Opportunities Policy
- liaison and representation of Tower Hamlets with relevant agencies
- maintain good liaison with the Police and other relevant local agencies in order to maintain agreed referral policies
