Work Place
Welcome: Employers and employees, supervisors and staff, business owners, shareholders and investors, and any others who are interested in more effective ways to resolve conflict in the work place.
There are a number of reasons for exploring the use of restorative approaches in the work place.
- One is that disciplinary processes tend to be adversarial, focused more on the harm done to the business and not to other workers who were affected.
- Second, workplaces benefit from cooperative and collegial relationships among workers and restorative approaches address those as well as the misconduct and its effects.
- Third, processes that build trust and respect between employees and employers create better work environments.
Although Restorative Justice Online focuses on the use of restorative justice in response to crime, there is a growing body of knowledge about how restorative practices can be applied in the workplace.
